Gastroparesis

Hi everyone,
I had my doctor's appointments this past Friday.  I just feel like I am getting more and more tired each day.  I never know how my day is going to be.  As many of you know, I had a lot of colon problems, and I had my colon removed on June 2nd.  However, for the past few years I never understood my left abdomen hurting all the time, getting chronically nausea, and get full even from a few bites of food unless I hadn't hardly ate anything all day!  It turns out I do have gastroparesis, a condition where the motility in your stomach is very slow or does not move out all.  My gastric emptying test said, "The half-time was 509 minutes.  This is extremely abnormal."  Think about how long one little bite of food will sit in my stomach before it completely empties!  No wonder I am really having problems eating now-a-days!

Currently, I am not sure what is still going to happen, but the doctor gave me another medicine to try, but I can't afford it.  It is very expensive, when I cancelled my insurance at the end of July.  I am not working, but the doctor did tell me to apply for social security, so we can work on disability and getting me a medical card.  I had my interview already this morning to get that process started.  Also, I contacted one of my former co-workers about a GI doctor her sister went to at Rush University in Chicago to get a consult.  I read how in severe cases a gastric pacemaker can be implanted into your body.  It is not a cure, and there is no cure for gastroparesis, but with a pacemaker (sort of like a heart pacekmaker) can help stimulate your stomach and function again to prevent nausea, keep food and liquids down, help you live a more normal life to enjoy some food again!  I need help right now because I am tired and get constantly bloated everyday.

That is the current update on my condition, and as far as the ornaments; I hope you all e-mail me because that is about all I can do right now.  My half-brother did order a 100 for his company with a design to keep me busy, so I am happy about that.  I want plenty more to do because it just takes my mind off of things.  Let me know, e-mail me, xmasornaments27@yahoo.com.

Hope you are doing great!

Still waiting!

Hi everyone,
I hope that all of you are doing great.  I still have been struggling everyday.  I really wish I could get better, and move on with my life.  I have been trying to call the gi doctor's office everday to see if I could get a sooner appointment, or if there are any cancellations.  So far, no luck.  Last Friday, I faxed a letter to my surgeon, who referred me to the gi doctor, about how uncomfortable and miserable I have been feeling.  My surgeon was going to try and work me in sooner.  It is just frustrating to have what seems like a non-functioning digestive system.  I am still not sure what is going to be happening in the future, but I am hoping medicine that works, and more surgery that works.  Then, I will start feeling 100% better, and can do all the things I want to do in my life.

As for my ornaments, I worked on a few more, and I made some drawings.  I attached mickey mouse and tinker bell on some ornaments.  My half brother might want to order a lot for his company, so that would keep my busy, and my mind off of things.  I hope everyone enjoys, and again, let me know.  I forgot to add.  You can e-mail me at xmasornaments27@yahoo.com or facebook me.

Christmas Ornaments

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my blog!  I have not been feeling good this year, and right now, I am currently unemployed.  As many of you know, I have had been having a lot of digestion problems.  I am still in the process of undergoing more tests, which is frustrating.  I might be having another surgery, but first, my surgeon wants to meet with a new, specialized gi doctor.  They told me last week the appointment is not until September 23rd.  Gosh, I can barely survive a day anymore.  I have already been calling everyday this week hoping for a cancellation.  Let's hope I can get in sooner!

Last year I decided to make Christmas ornaments for everyone, and sell them.  To my surprise, it was a hit!  The other day, I went to Hobby Lobby to see if they had Christmas decorations already.  Yes, they did!  I have started making some Christmas ornaments already that are up for sale.  So, everyone spread the word, and I will be happy to get them to you.  It will keep me busy, keep my mind off of things, since I do not feel good, and hopely make some extra income during this hard time in my life.  I decided not to keep the prices that different.

Prices:
5 dollars per ornament
6 dollars per ornament for the drawings on the back

Let me know, and I hope to make your holiday special this year.  The pictures I have up here on my blog are up for grab.  I will keep on posting on how the buisness is doing, and what is happening at the doctor's office as time continues on.
